Hi everyone,
before i purchased my 2000 Ford Explorer Sport, i did some research and was told that the 5 speed auto transmissions/V6 combo used in the ford/rangers tend to be a weak design, and that most all of them need to be replaced by 90k. I'm curious as to the truth in this, and if theres any signs to watch out for that could indicate it going out? Also, the Sport has 65k on it, would it be wise to take it in and have the fluid changed at least? I checked the fluid and it looks clean, so i wasn't sure.
