Seriously annoyed!

Ok so I haven't been on here much but you guys have helped solve the problems I had with my wifes 2003 explorer in the past.

The issue were having now is auto 4wd engagement. It is trying to engage on dry pavement while trying to get up to speed. Now I have ruled out a slipping trans by switching it into 4x4 high and it stops it from doing it. Anyone have this issue ever? If so how did you resolve it? I even pulled the 4x4 module fuse out but yet it still switches between 4 auto and 4 high and 4 low.

Please help as I'm at wits end with it.

hows ur thread on your tires? maybe its time for new 4x4 control module

The tread is still almost new.

With the module fuse out it shouldn't be kicking into 4wd at all, it should stay in 2wd in theory.

how about the tire inflation?

Tires are inflated accordingly to the owners manual.

yeah my 02 has done that two, more when its windy tho it seems to happen. has your abs light came on at all? it might have something to do with bad wheel speed sensors
