- 2002 Ford Explorer EB
I just completed the o-ring servo bore fix on my 2002 Explorer EB with the 4.6L/5R55W and I still have the same symptoms. Flare between 2-3 shift. Did the work myself so am only out my time and cost of the parts so it could have been worse.
Before undertaking this effort I did adjust my bands to make sure they were not excessively worn or broken. I checked the solenoid block and all readings were within the range listed. Is it possible it could be the solenoid block even though everything checked out with it?
Don't really want to throw any more $ at it and not fix the issue. Leaning toward getting it replaced for about $2500. Just don't look forward to shelling out that much for a 11 year old vehicle. Just have to drive it longer, I guess.
Any suggestions?
