First of all I am very sorry if this has been asked several times, I am still new and have not yet mastered how to navigate this site yet.

Now, my shackles on my 93 Explorer 4 door have gotten to the point of being able to see through one of them. I am looking at replacing them before winter comes rolling along. My question is will Ranger shackles work and which ones/what years? Also is it something a home mechanic can do or is it something a shop should do? I have a little ass sag right now and thought a new 2" Ranger shackle lift would kill 2 birds with one stone

Please feel free to lead me to any better alternatives
Alex

This is something you can do yourself very easily. Do a search for war 153 install and you will find a thread with pics on how to do this. You can find war 153 shackles at a couple of off road supply websites. Have a grinder handy in case you have to cut the rusted bolts. Good luck.

thank you, a little bit of more searching plus checking out the suspension along with some common sence got most of my questions answered

Id go with the warrior shackles. I just installed some this past week on my 92 XLT and am very pleased with them. Took me less than an hour to install by myself and at $80, it wasnt a bad deal.

drop shackles from advance auto. there like 20 bucks

I think he's looking to lift it not drop it.
