Hi, and thanks to anyone who takes their time to offer advise. My 00 Sport developed this condition: when turning sharply, the front emits a howling type sound, and the wheels feel as if you're turning on a flat tire, like they're grabbing. Going straight and moderate curve, nothing. Turning into a parking spot, or a sharp turn, it happens. Coincidentally, it seems to have started after I tried to stop on a slippery road in the snow the other day & the anti-lock brakes activated. BTW, my ABS lite is on & has been on for quite a while, even before this. Both front CV axles & hubs were replaced 2 years ago. I'm thinking transfer case ? Any thoughts ?

That to me sounds like your alignment if you can hve someone drive around in a parking lot while you watch the tires as they turn if either one becomes uneaven such as if top of the tire is positive camber. And the bottom is negative. This happened to my buddy when he broke his idler arm and threw the. Alignment off it looked like the outside tire was getting pushed on the pavement instead of actually turning

no... alignment is good. tires are good. the howling noise is coming inside, not from any rubbing.

If the ABS light is on, the system is disabled.
Not sure how you managed an ABS stop the other day...
