Should I buy a 1998 Exp Sport V6?

I got a '98 sohc sport 4x4 last year with 80,000 miles on it for right around $8000. I have definitely had a few problems with it- had to replace the transfer case and also the manifold o-rings under the 00-M12 recall, but I am still very happy with it. the gas mileage isnt quite 20 mpg, but it drives really well and is a lot of fun. the problems it has had, were not very expenseve to fix myself, and i actually learned a lot while fixing them, so I dont even think of that as a big downfall. overall, Im really happy with it and i think 7400 is a pretty good deal on it, as long as there are no major problems with it. If i were you i would ask the owner if he has gotten the recalls taken care of, because since it has 80,000 miles on it now, some of them have expired, and you will have to pay to get them fixed yourself if they go bad.
Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

Make sure the blend control works in all vent postions and temp. ranges. If it doesn't chances are the blend door is broken and the correct repair will run between 400-1000 bucks depending on where you live and wheter you take it to a dealer or a private shop.

Another thing would be to find out if the tranny has been serviced and at what mileage, if it hasn't I would also get the tranny fluid changed right away front transfer case fluid, as well. Picking up a car 60-70,000 miles will cost some money in maintenance issues like belts, hoses, radiator flush possibly brakes etc. But I am sure you were expecting these things when buying an X with this kind of mileage.
