Silly question please help out the newbie!

Dumb newbie question but I have searched all day for the answer to no avail. When you say right side vs left side is that sitting in the driver seat or standing in front of vehicle looking at engine. Standing in front of vehicle looking at engine my right side head gasket is fubar. Is this the gasket I can change without pulling engine? Crossing fingers!!!! If not then I have a ton of 2004 explorer xls parts available.

Drivers side timing chain is in the front.

Passenger side timing chain is in the rear.
