Just bought one of last 2010 Explorers in Northern VA. My 3rd explorer, fifth Ford truck, but its been a while.
Noticed underneath a vulnerable looking exhaust pipe under motor. Lowest piece of equipment, lower than frame. Dealer says no skid plate options available. However, Ford seems to offer fleet package skid plate, but for gas tank and transfer case.
I plan to drive this Explorer on the beach at Hatteras, no wild stuff, just carrying family and gear out to remote beach areas. Should I be concerned about this?
