Off the line at least, is was my stock 91 ford explorer vs. my friends 97 mustang cobra. He beat the s*** out of me on the first pass, I ran an 18.0 to his 12.4. But on the 2nd run, I put it in 4 wheel low and smoked his a** off the line. I ran a 1.8 to his 2.0. 60ft. times of course. Then I let off about 100ft. I was scared to go any faster than 45. So I just stopped it and put it in 2 wheel drive and finished the run. 38 seconds baby. Oh well I had fun and that's all that matters.

That's funny. Did you also back up to disengage the hubs? That would be hilarious to see at the track! Nice job beating his 60ft though. That's why I love getting power to four wheels instead of two.
Hell yeah I backed up, I slammed the gas in reverse, tires screaming and all. All of my friends thought it was hillarious, but the guys running the track didn't and told me I wasn't allowed back out on the track for the rest of the night, though I didn't really care, I was done with what I wanted to do for the night.
i raced a supercharged 03 at the track last fall. With AWD and nitrous I was running 1.7 60 foot times and running the 1/8th in a 9.110. He had a 1.9 60 foot and 9.335 1/8
My friend knew I was gonna smoke him off the line, i told him I was gonna put it in 4 low to see what it would do. Though I already knew, I just wanted to be able to say I beat him. He didn't really care, though the old guy in the vette last year sure was pissed off.
Haha, I don't have 4auto, just 4hi, and 4low. And I usually don't go over 15 or 20 in 4low, but sometimes you just have to say damn the consequences, and go for it. Besides i'm getting a new one at the end of summer, so it's not like losing 4 wheel drive would kill me, other than I couldn't go out to moab in june.
