Hi all i've got a line on a p reg 77000 miles with a smoky engine.
Question is, is it likely to be piston rings or could it be one of the head gaskets?
Also is the gearbox the same as my 98?
I'm just thinkin i could buy and fix or strip some useful bits and then weigh in.
Thoughts???

i wouldnt touch it personally unless its really cheap have a chat to chris quelch hell put you right as he breaks them regularly

cheers swampy
£250 maybe?? but i'm told it has 4 good tyres on alloys and if the gearbox is good, rear axle, air shocks, fuses and relays, calipers, few engine ancillaries all out and stashed in the shed with the rest left for anyone on the site before it's scrapped.
Don't know the full sp on it yet but hopefully find out in the next couple of days.

id buy it for that price though, you could strip and rebuilt engine at own pace and have a good spare ,trouble is with other parts eveyone else has the same idea and loads of parts on ebay just sitting there.you could may be strip out and make a buggy type veihcle which are pretty popular on ebay or as you say scrap it it worth over £100 as scrap these days its up to you ,richard
