smoother ride

We have some pretty horrible roads around here and Im looking for a smoother ride when going over bumps. Im assuming replacing the stock shocks should at least help the problem out a little bit. I checked all my springs for the notorious crack and everything looks okay. Def do not want to lift the truck at all, lowering an inch or 2 may be down the road a bit. Any shock suggestions to better the stock ride?

lowering it is not going to make the ride any better, actually it is going to get worse.

There are bad roads in MI, but I am still lowering my X. I guess I am just used to rough roads ha.

If you were to change to a tire size above stock, then it will provide a slightly smoother ride because of the taller sidewall. If you were to lower it, the ride will get worse if anything because lowering shocks are meant for performance and therefore are stiffer than stock springs.
