It is probably returned merchandise. A mass manufacturer would NEVER paint a balancer like that. They will be either natural, or black.

It was still vac packed with rust prevention sheets, the snout was still like a mirror from the machining, and no front main seal wear on it.

It doesn't take a genius to tell if a damper is new or not. Come on.
