Let me say that I have been lurking on this board for a few months now, and this is my first post. Anyways, me and my wife recently bought an '04 Explorer XLT. Its 4wd and has the 4.6l. The wife and I love it, but I have noticed some wierd things...
1. Steering column shake - I read that '02-04 X's suffer from this. Not bad, just wierd feeling sometimes
2. TBW hesitation - I noticed this the first time I drove it. I'm glad that other people have noticed this too. I've always had older Fords, so it was kinda wierd.
3. The little black blocks that go in the garage door opener compartment - It came with one block and I would really like to use it, but I cannot find any part #s. Anybody have a good replacement idea?
I traded in my '99 Cobra vert to this, so its pretty different. It came with a Magnaflow catback, so whoever owned it before me had the right idea (my wife asked me when we drove it at the dealer "Who puts a catback on an Explorer?" I replied "Someone like me!"). It hauls the kids around and goes like mad in the snow (3.73s and Trak-loc
) I refer to it as my 4500lb Mustang
