OK, here's the problem. For a while, I've been noticing what feels like a slight clunk when I come to a stop and when I take off. Not like a pop or anything, but more like something is just loose and I am feeling it through the steering. I originally thought it may be ball joints, but I think I have ruled them out. Every time I jack it up and wiggle the driver's wheel back and forth, the problem goes away for a few days, then comes back.
Today, we tried to move the wheel from side to side and it moved probably a half an inch. Then it would not move any more when we tried, like we put something back into place or something. My friend was watching and said it was not the inner tie rod end because he didn't see any play. Does anyone know of common problems that may lead to what I'm experiencing? Any help would be appreciated.
