I thought I posted this, but can't find it...
2004 Monty, 4.6L AWD 180K... just started today... engine oil level is fine and recent change, so all clean. No metallic particles on dipstick.
Engine starts, revs, runs fine... but there is a knock at idle and it progresses with RPM.
Any chance there is a transmission issue as well/instead?
I am familiar with the sound of a bad bearing in the engine, and this is more "solid" not the normal initial tap-tap, or thud-thud of a rod bearing. Thus why I am asking. literally like a knock on the door instead of the slap of a rod or piston.
any thoughts?
Thanks!!
Rob
