My 1997 4.0 SOHC has had a fuel smell with no visible leaks for some time. Today I was finally able to remove the upper plenum to get to the injectors and fuel rail. I found that the back injector on the drivers side is leaking. I removed the fuel rail and 3 injectors and found that the back one had a deformed O-ring, the middle one had a tear and not leaking. I went and purchased a 12 piece set of Standard brand to replace these. I'm almost to the halfway point in the repair and I think that I would have used a little grease or oil when I previously installed these.
I also noticed that the supply line O-ring has a slight tear but not leaking. I'm unable to find a listing for the supply line O-ring and the jumper line O-ring. They kind of look like the supply line O-ring looks to be the same as the injector O-rings. I purchased 12 O-rings so there are 6 extra that I could use 2 from to replace those. Does anyone know for sure?

thanks D. I went home at lunch and found 3 new injector sleeves and tapped them in since I had them leftover from 2 years ago. I tried to message you back but I got a message that I had reached my limit for a 24 hour period.
It's working well with no fuel leaks but near the end of the repair I had a bit of an uh oh moment. Truck ran like crap and I was assuming an upper intake leak. I got out the smoke machine and hooked it up and quickly found the one vacuum line that I had overlooked. It is running really well. I can only imagine how a 4.0 SOHC runs with a Turbo Charger. ;)
