I was pretty frustrated yesterday trying to put on my spacer lift...just didn't look right. I'm hoping someone can help. Maybe I can describe my situation better today. It looked like the lower spring seat and the upper seat didn't line up like they did before, as if the new lower seat was in the wrong position. On these spacers there is an offset so I might accedentally put them on wrong the wrong way. It kinda looked like if you were to take a stock truck, jack up the frame, undo the shock/swaybar so the suspension could fully droop. Since we have a ttb the lower spring seat would move along in an arc, changing the angle of it in relation to the upper seat, also as the axle droops the lower seat could move farther away from the upper seat, this very well might have been what I was seeing. I'll try to show of my ascii art skills now: I don't know how to get it to save formatting, so I had to put those dashes it to get it to look kinda right. Sorry.
Stock:
---- __ (upper spring seat)
----- /
----- / (spring)
----- /
---- _/_ (stock lower spring seat)
With Spacer:
----- __ (upper spring seat )
------ /
------ / (spring)
----- /
--- _/_
--- | | (F-150 Spring Seat)
The lower seat doesn't line up vertically with the upper seat.
That might convey the situation alittle better. It just seemed like with the spacer/seat was farther off than I had expected. I don't expect it to look just like it did stock, but I'm just wondering if this difference is normal for such a lift. I'm assuming that alot of it will settle out just want to make sure i'm on the right track before I go any further. Any thoughts on if this is normal? Of course my little picture is exagerated but I hope it makes my description clearer. Thanks for all the help!
