spark plug gap

Just curious about spark plug gaps for my 03 sport trac. I think a range of 52-56 is listed for the gap. What gap do you all use in a case like this.

Personally I go with the narrow measurement. It's a tad better for city/low RPM and the gap widens as the plug wears.
