Ok this is a new one for me. I was checking some things on the Explorer and disconnected the battery for obvious reasons. I put everything back together that I worked on. The next day driving to a job, we got on the freeway (75mph posted) I tried to pass and get up to 85ish to enjoy our ride up the hill. Got to 80 from 75 normal.... Then nothing, just flat to the floor with no further acceleration 80 mph and no more. Never experienced this before and need to correct immediately. Does anyone know what I could have done or is there something that I am missing for the MyKey programming? Which is not showing in the menus anymore? Any help is much appreciated.

Hi Craig. Usually, if MyKey doesn't show in the menu, it means you are not using the Admin key. This is to stop a driver from changing the MyKey settings.

Update for today... Going to change the battery in both key fobs. Still limp @ 80mph, haha. Also, the words are always jumbled on the display when using the aux to listen to music but, today the words showed normal for the cold start then went back to jumbled after the 2nd or 3rd start of the afternoon.

Still no option to select MyKey using either key today, will update after changing batteries and driving to work. I think it's time for Forscan or a chip to get rid of some bugs.

I am also looking into replacing the Y pipe on the exhaust and for front skid plates so I stop bashing the exhaust and shredding the flex pipe on my off-road adventures 😂 lol. Ebay Motors? Fabrication and a leveling kit?

Changed batteries in fobs and disconnected the negative for 10 minutes, still no MyKey options in the settings, still limited to 80 mph. Never had this problem before, I have changed the battery out and disconnected the battery for working on the truck multiple times. Looks like a trip to the dealership?

See if they can confirm that one of your keys is still an Admin key.

Is it in valet mode? If you can't get into the mykey menu then you probably can't tell. I don't know if Forscan can reprogram fobs it may need to be done using Ford IDS software

Thank you for your replies Peter and mguy13sport it helps to get the thoughts processing.

Just got on the highway using the other key that I put away and haven't used in a while, it allows the vehicle to pass 80 mph! The key that I normally use does not still. Neither key shows MyKey in the menus still, but I know which one to use for now! This N/A EX has dinosaur parts for computer I am sure if it.

Still have 2 service bulletins to get taken care of by dealer so maybe they would update the computer.

Thank you for your time for now 👍

That key that allows you to go over 80 is the Admin key. You should now also be able to pull up the MyKey menu in your display.
