Hey guys,
Just got done doing a manual BW4406 conversion. Its working great, I love it!! BUT....now my speedo is 10 MPH off. It was 5 MPH off before conversion. I put the old VSS in the 4406 from the AWD case, it has the pink gear. The original that came out of the 4406 was a red one. So my question is...How many teeth are on the pink gear? And the red? What size gear do I need to get to fix it? I would try the red and see what happens but its a PITA to get to! I want to make sure I have the right one if I do this again. I forgot to count how many teeth are on the pink one.....:(

Thanks!

I just bought a spedo from a friend well known to this sight and happy with it. The calibration is done with a screw driver behind the insturment pannel. Ok it looks like you have to remove the gauges. Leaving the guages hanging You need someone w/gps to get it right.

Have a friend help. If you dont have any friends then pick up a hitch-hicker. (DANGER) dont do that. LOL

nah, hitch hikers are fine where im at, i mean who would escape from that state prison a couple miles from me??? I'll be sure to find the roughest looking, crazyest looking guy i can find! LOL.

The speedo is 10 MPH off all the time, not 1 MPH off at 20 MPH, then 5 MPH at 40, 10 off at 60 and so on. So there is a screw behind the gauges? I've had the gauges taken out before to replace the bulbs but I dont recall seeing a screw....But tomarrow afternoon I'll be finding out! lol. Thanks!

Ok so I found a chart of how many teeth are on each color gear. Mine has 19 teeth. The red has 21.

So the more teeth, the slower the reading it will show, correct? Maybe I'll try the red one and see what happens.

With love! A little less plumage please. My world!

Ok, I ran accross some info I needed....A formula to figure out what size gear you nead is this: currant teeth x speed shown / actual speed.

I have a 19 teeth x 70 MPH / 60 MPH actual = 22 teeth.

So the red gear I have is a 21 so thatll work just fine for me....
