Speedo Question

Does anyone know if you can swap the speedo from an XLT into an XLS? I have a 2003 XLS and would eally like the Odometer functions from the XLT (compass, miles to empty, etc.) Has anyone done this or know if you can enable it on these models? The options flash when first starting the truck, but then only the mileage shows.

short answer- no

the speedo doesn't actually contain the module to enable these functions. those are held in the GEM module i believe.

i looked into doing the same thing and found nothing but dead ends and headaches

So if I replaced the GEM module with one out of an XLT, it, in theory, would work?
