Spring availability would mean prior to June 21st. I believe production begins in a couple of weeks so it will be very tight time frame to have them out before Summer begins. As well it has been said that the Platinum will be a later build. I haven't seen anything on that except here on the forum.

Starting price of $52,600 for a Ford Explorer Platinum is insane. That's in the realm of a luxury vehicle like an Infiniti or Lexus. I think if Ford wants to do this, this should take place under the Lincoln brand.

As I posted in another thread, my dealer quoted me $61,400 in Platinum white with 2nd row buckets and console. My MKT was just under $59K but I received some very good discounts on it. The 'Build & Price' feature won't be available on the CDN site for another month so I'll have to wait and see.

The Lincoln brand is a joke and all Lincoln really does is prevent Ford from making their cars the best they could make it. I like where they are going with the Platinum Ford Explorer in that it's both semi-luxury and sporty. However, there's still plenty of compromise in the Platinum as there isn't enough extra interior beauty and premium materials because they don't want it to be too much of a Lincoln, and it definitely lacks the luxury feel for that kind of money.
Lincoln just tries to be classy versus innovative in a classy + cool way where Cadillac does super well. All the people in my generation never talk about Lincoln anymore, all we get excited for are Cadillacs, BMWs, Mercedes, Audi, when we think of Luxury.
