OK, I was on my way to Cincinnati this morning and got about 30 minutes into the trip & my Explorer start sputtin and sputterin up hills. (around 75MPH).
As soon as it started I stopped at the next exit & checked out. Couldnt see anything either. (But wasnt sputtering at idle either - or while driving around town)
Took off again hoping it would be OK but was really getting annoying. So I can back home.
Hooked up code scanner & got code 341 (Octane adjust service pin use) - - WHAT in the world does that mean?? & code 157 (MAF sensor signal voltage too low). I know I probably need to clean that, but my other concern is code 341 - HELP!!!!!

I was curious, so I looked in the Hanes manual, and code 341 is listed with a slightly different wording.

Code 341, Probable Cause = "Octane adjust service pin open"

I have heard people mention this before, but I don't recall what/where it is. The "open" condition might shed some light on the problem once you figure out what/where the "pin" is...

Also, you may try cleaning the MAF, then driving again @75 mph. I don't know if it's possible for that to cause the condition for the other code, but it's worth a shot.
