My 2003 Ford Explorer is making squeaking scronching Chewing Rubber Band noises so loudly that people on the street are turning to look at me. Hasn't been mine too long, was certified in the spring, replaced drivers rear wheel bearing. Mechanic says he can't see anything wrong.....is he deaf?? What on earth can this be?

Pretty vague description. Where does the noise seem to be coming from?

Check anything made of rubber that contacts metal. That includes sway bar, control arm, shock
mount bushings, etc. Best way to diagnose is spray one part at a time with lubricant or water.

Thanks. If I am driving on a smooth road and there are no bumps and the body does not sway from side to side the squeaking diminishes. If I hit a bump, when I turn a corner and the body sways a bit, it increases the volume dramatically.

Sway bar mount bushings....

Also, these trucks are known for eating ball joints. Check lowers and uppers.
