First of all hello everyone!

For the past month or so there has been a "squeeling" sound under the hood. I thought belt at first but noticed the sound was from further back, towards the firewall but could not locate the source.

It squeels when started and continues intermittently untill I reach around 40mph or so, or I rev the engine. Also on the interstate travling up or down inclines. It is slowly getting worse. I crawled under the truck this morning to locate the sound, unfortunantly it wasn't squeeling at that time. I did look at my lower engine mounts. My driver's side had a little orange "post" next to the mount bolt, nut end. My passenger's side "post" seems to have sheered off.

Is this an indicator that I have a bad mount? Is there a fix, If not what else could it be?

Thank you much,
Dan

Could it be the idle air control valve. It is on the the intake manifold. It has a wire connection. Next time it squeels check it. It is a relatively cheap and easy repair.

Sorry about this, I don't think it is the mount. It's not the IAC but I'm sure glad you had me check it. The sound is emitting from right behind it. I only disconnected and reconnected a vacuum line that plugs into the (valve cover?). I took a picture, the arrow points to the vacuum line and I think I have the sound pinpointed to the circled area.

Anymore Ideas?

BTW I didn't fix anything but after I messed with the vacuum line it didn't squeel on my test drive, funny thing. I have a feeling it will return when I go to work tonight.

Thanks again,
Dan
