There is a relay that could be bad. Usually when it's bad you can jump from the battery + side to the starter solenoid and it will turn over.

It could also be the ignition switch, neutral safety switch, or a wiring issue.

update

i got the new saterter on and i went today and got a fender mounted solenoid and new battery and still not starting i will check the relay today i am really at a loss here what else could it be?? altenantor possibly?? i have spent almost 200 bucks and dont have all the money in the world to fix this thing need help bad!!

Run a jumper from the battery to the starter and see if it turns over. If it does, then it's probably somewhere in the battery cables from the battery to the fender solenoid to the starter. Keep in mind that battery cables normally corrode from the inside out, so it can look fine externally, but still be bad. If that all checks out, then it could be the ignition or neutral switch. It's very unlikely that it's your alternator or battery.

X2 on the battery cable thing,

i had a friend with an F150, it wouldn't start either, i ran a booster cable to the starter from the battery , worked fine,, so we replaced the battery cable,, problem solved,,

thanks will try but how strong of wire do i use??

corroded ground wire

i pulled the negative wire off and it looks as if there is a section blown as the bettery terminal end does not have any corrosion but at the frame ground split off there is and at the head that connects to the bottom of starter is where can i buy a new wire and will this one wire really not let the starter run?? remember im still a newbie only one year into this ex and not looking too good
