- 1995 Ford Explorer sport
Sorry I'm new and don't know if I'm posting this in the right place but I have a 1995 ford explorer sport track with 4WD. I saved this car from the crusher and got it for a very low price. At the time I knew there were issues. For example I knew the rack and pinion was shot so it had no power steering, the ABS light was on and the key less didn't work, bad battery, sunroof leaking. I fixed the rack and pinon, new battery, new power steering pump and hoses. later found a bad starter which I replaced. I fixed the sun roof and keyless entry. for a while it was running great and driving like a boat. one day I was driving out of town and the check engine light popped on. I pulled over at a local Auto zone to have it checked and their computer couldn't connect with mine so I kept going. I got to my destination, did my business and when I went to start it back up the temp gauge read it was over heated. I popped the hood and there was coolant but to be on the safe side i waited till it was cooled. then drove home. The next day i drove it to my mechanic who used the computer hook up under the hood and found the O2 sensor and EGR feed back sensor were failing. I had them replaced and the car drove fine without any issue drove it home had a good day. now here is where my problem is. The next day I went to drive the ford and it wouldn't start. So I went down my checklist. It had fuel, oil, coolant, tyranny fluid, spark, so I pried open the throttle body and sprayed some starter fluid in it I got in turned the key and after some fight it started. It fought me to stay on but it did. The OD sensor light started blinking. As well as the check gauge light came on but all gauges read fine. I also had the 2WD and 4WD light blinking on the dash. I turned off the car and restarted it and found it fired right up but all the lights in the cab went off when starting. I decided to take it for a drive but couldn't role down the windows or open the sun roof, or turn on the radio nothing. The lights came on but wouldn't turn off. Then the gauge shot up past the over heated but the engine was no where near hot. Can anyone tell me what my problem is. I believe its electrical. I say that cause it takes all the power the car has to start the engine and then there isn't enough power or no power getting to the parts I need to get this fixed so I can continue on with this car. Any suggestions are helpful.
