Hey guys on Wednesday here in New England my fiance tried to start her 96 5.0 AWD Eddie Bauer to no success. Due to the monsoon plus thanksgiving it literally crapped out on the only day of the year part stores arent open, The irony makes me die a little inside just saying.
In any case checked the fuses, all fine.
Checked the battery and even tried jumping it just in case, all fine.
I hear the solenoid/relay make it click/clunk sound every time I try to start it but just in case I replaced it (20 year old car cheap part I dont mind)
So thats the easiest things to try and most frequent issues I have seen people murmur about on the forums, She found something about a security issue on the forums which I will try but I'm also planning on rapping on the starter to see if it might be jammed.
Only other electrical issue we have ever had was 2 weeks ago, whoever we got the vehicle from looks like they tried and failed to install a remote starter, the wiring was crap and she dropped the wheel, while I was repairing the shifter tube assembly, creating a short and blowing out the 60amp ignition fuse since replaced. No other issues for the two weeks since so I doubt its that but just in case I included it, more info is always better.
As always when I have gone through and traced 2-3 possible problems I consult the forums and was curious what some other thoughts may be or things I may have missed.
