starved for fuel?

have a 94 exp. not running right, then fuel pump died so i changed the pump and fuel filter , it runs better but it will buck a little when your running thru the gears like if you would turn fuel swich on and off. while in 5th running at speed limit, i'll start pushing pedel for more speed it acts like its not getting enough fuel that you can feel, back my foot off just a bit it will smooth out until i start pushing pedel down again. this exp. was running perfect it sat about a week all of a sudden this problem. spark plugs, blocked cat? don't want to just throw parts at it.

Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and determine if it is or is not getting enough fuel. There's a "fuel pressure mini-diary" thread stickied in one of these forums (I believe it is the under the hood forum) with instructions for a fuel pressure test.

I am having about the same problem with my 92 ranger with the 4.0 I cleaned the maf and it got better but then came back so I think mine is bad you might try cleaning it and see if that helps
