Where is the stealthiest and most secure place to mount an amplifier in an Explorer Sport. I don't have room at all under the rear seats. The only place I can think of is under the drivers seat or in the left passender quarter panel.

I don't really want to mount it in the left quarter panel because it's not really convnient, the wiring job is **** (I know from having to take off the right panel to do a gay amp bypass), to get to and heat dissipation would also be poor.

I'm willing to put it under the seat but I'm wondering if there is any other spots. If I put it under the seat is there anything I can do to prevent the amp from being all scuffed up. Also is there any way to secure it so nobody jacks it from under the seat without putting screws into the ground?

Thanks a lot guys!

i put my amp on the drivers side rear quarter panel.
they are a ***** to remove! but there is like 2 inches of air space in front of my amp and its screwed into the frame. lots of room in both quarter panels if you get creative.

Is the amp below the speaker there or is it further back by the removable panel by the tool panel?

Both of my amps + the capacitor are behind the passenger's side rear cargo panel. I took out the factory pocket back there and have one amp there, and the other sits above the wheel well. I thought I had some pics in my photo gallery but I don't. I'll look when i get home if you want.

i'm with you 97Sport - i have an 01 sport and i'm in the same situation - my sub is going in the storage area bin on the passanger side - i need a good place for the amp ... help guys

right in front of the jack is a huge amount of space. there is even a metal panel there you can screw your amp into. like i said my amp has at least 2 inches of airspace in front of it also.

My amp is too big... it's about 12high"*10wide"*2"tall...

How do I take out the storage bin on the other side? It will fit in there probably since I don't have this metal panel in there.
