Like many of you, my Steering Column Shift Linkage Coupler Lever has broken  and the truck will not go into gear. I want to replace this with the Doorman 905-104 unit BUT I am concerned because my unit looks different. PLEASE look at the pictures of my unit and let me know if anyone had the same unit and were you able to substitute with the Doorman or similar unit??

I am having the same trouble with my daughter's explorer, but in addition to the alloy shift being broken, I have cracked the hard plastic cover on the brass lever attached to the backside of that thing. I have looked at the same aftermarket replacement and it looks like it will work, but I think I will have to buy a column from a salvage yard to obtain the brass lever.

I would be interested to know how this has worked out for you.

This item worked PERFECTLY! Even though it looked entirely different than mine it has worked flawlessly for over a year.
