Well I was in my truck today changing out my plugs and noticed the grease things on all the steering joints explorer/ruptured so I guess I need to buy new ones and replace them. Where can I buy new ones? There are three grease things on each side and I need to place them all. Can anyone help? Thanks!

What the hell are you exactly describing.. Are you describing the tie rod ends, they do have grease boots on em, once they blow, you have to replace them.. The only other things that have grease on them in the front end are the lower & upper ball joints and none of them have zerk fittings from the factory.

Are you sure the seals are blown or are you just seeing grease ooze out of the bottom of the boots?

Like the whole boot is blown. Its completly torn off at the top and i can see the joint in the middle. Theres still grease there...for now but I need a WHOLE NEW BOOT. I just dont know where to get it or what to ask for. The boot like torn in half or exploded?

If the boots are located on the steering knuckle they are the tie rod boots.
Energy Suspension

Companies like Energy Suspension sell new boots made out of silicone for tire rod ends, etc., but usually once the boots get that ripped up the joint is also shot and needing replacement.

Do a search for tie rod ends and ball joints for more info - then as soon as you figure out which parts are bad, come back and ask specific questions about the things you don't understand.

Know that both tie rod ends and ball joints are CRITICAL to the safety and operation of your truck. If they fail, the results are usually catastrophic, as in an accident from loss of steering. If replacement seems beyond your mechanical capacity after reading some of the great posts on the forum about changing them out - go to some mechanic and have it done.

So I should replace the upper and lower ball joints and tie rod ends? The reason I ask because there are 3 grease boots I can find on each side of the truck on the front end and all 3 are exploded

I don't think he's talking about the suspension. If you follow the steering shaft, about a foot away from the steering rack, there's a ujoint( I think), with a boot. I noticed my boot was ripped also. I tried looking it up, how to change it, can't come up with anything. I'll have to dig a little more deep in the service manual.
