I finally got my X back from the body shop and she's shining like I remembered her!;) But... my steering wheel is permanently jacked. The leather is completely torn up:mad: I checked out the ford online OEM place and they had it on sale for a low price of $217. That's way too much, and my local junkyards don't have any suitable wheels, do you guys know of any distributors of OEM, or even nice aftermarket ones? Thanks!

I'm not sure but I thought the leather steering wheels were around $100 online but i might be wrong. I have had pretty good results using the leather wrap covers you can buy at auto stores. It looks nice for $25 bucks.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but try eBay. I got a brand new wheel for my '95 off of there for $25. I will keep an eye out for a first gen one...........what color are you looking for?

Damn you guys are fast!

That's what I thought at first too, but the cheapest one I could find was for about 217.

Geez Robb thanks a bunch! I'm lookin' for a black wheel, I think you're right when you say Ebay is the best option.
Thanks!!!

ALL First Gen. wheels are black, but there are two styles, the 91-92 one is more square than the 93-94 one....:D

Cranky, is this a 1st gen wheel?

I think that's the 93-94 one he was talking about.

91-92 are more square in the middle.

IS there a mechanical difference? I'm not overly concerned with keeping the square steering wheel, if the 93-94 wheels work then I would be more than happy to find one. Thanks guys!

Why not just get one of the rubber, ford steering wheel covers, It's what I have on mine. Looks great, and matches black mud matts.

As it turns out, I got lucky and some poor guy just wrecked a 92 X with a beautiful steering wheel. According to the guy, it had been wrecked just under 3 days ago and had just come to the junkyard yesterday. I',m going to pick it up this morning. Thank you all for your help.
BTW- I considered the leather wrapping and the ford wheel cover and came pretty close to getting the wrapping...I like the leather feel:D
Thanks!
Greg
