Ever since I installed the system in my Ex. (4years ago) the stock sub hasn't worked. Sunday I was at the junkyard pickin me up some F-150 leafs and behind the 150 sat a, drumroll......2002 Explorer sport.....5 SPEED MANUAL! Someone had already gotten the engine and dropped the tranny for the torque converter :( So I pulled out the little storage bin in the back to sit in place of the stocker.

(fixed the leaky rear window while I had the panel off :) )

I picked up that little compartment for 3 bucks so I'm not complaining. If anyone wants a stock sub assembly w/ hardware, wiring (up to the passenger kick panel) and grille then shoot me a PM.

^^ The arrow shows where the wiring harness stops. The harness continues, but it goes straight into a cluster **** of wires!

Nice work.

I am in need of the light gray subwoofer cover so that won't work for me. I have the sub and wiring installed already.

Oh, and FYI, manual transmissions don't have torque converters. ;)

Question: I'm installing this in a 98 explorer that did not originally come with this setup. im not particularly concerned with the wiring of the sub/amp and making them work, however, since my ex didn't come with the sub option, the harness from the stereo to the passenger kick panel (last picture above) is not there. anybody know where i can get one?

Free bump.

I just did a quick little Google search and turned up nothing but i'm sure you could find what you're looking for if you search more. I take it you got the sub assembly? The hardware is in the box inside a sandwich bag, the tape was MIA so it wasn't taped to anything.

yea, got it all and is as expected. i didn't tear anything apart ahead of time, so i was just hoping that the sub harness would be built in to all the models' wiring, but no. i looked for a while and haven't found it, but ill keep looking.
