took my mountaineer on a long road trip (500 miles round trip) and above 55mph every once in awhile I can feel/hear a small vibration in the floorboards and it started happening with about 100 miles left to go in the trip. Its quick vibration almost like wind is catching something and causeing it to vibrate and not like a bad CV/ujoint (I crawled under and check the CV/ujoints) and I jack up the front and the wheel bearing seem ok to with no excessive play.

kinda funny... I had a strange vibration >55mph the other day.. then it went away... turns out it was some of that crack sealer for pavement stuck in my treads due to the extreme temps..

My 04 Mountaineer AWD, V-8 had the same problem. Dealer had a TSB on problem, a new rear drive shaft fixed the problem. Mine was stll under warranty.
