stuck in 4 wheel drive

Hi,
Can anyone help me, I have a 2001 Ford Ranger 4.0l engine, I used my four wheel drive the other day, when I went to go to work, the truck is still in 4 wheel drive, but the turn switch, is not lit up, nor is the little 4x4 on the dash.
Iwas wondering is there a way to get it out of 4 wheel drive, and what might be wrong, I have checked the fuses, they are all good.

Go to the forum on Transmissions, Transfer Cases & Differentials and have a read on the sticky thread about 4WD, AWD and Transfer Case Information & Operation. It describes your problem and talks about jacking the truck up to unlock it. The comments apply to older trucks but it might get you started.

thank you, i did unlock it by removing the motor and manually turning the switch, but the motor and that little washer are okay, i was told there is a relay switch somewhere that goes bad,any ideas on how to find this

i have 95 ranger 4lt same problem pulled what i think is 4wd pick module but no reset button or anything on it. looking for answers jay
