I have a 01 Sport 4 x 4. We experieneced out first big snow of the year. I was getting around pretty good in "low" setting. Lots of ice and snow. Now I cant get back to regular 2 x 4 mode. I am thinking something may have froze or hubs are locked. Any suggestions I should try before I take it to the shop would be extremely appreciated.

Well you could of binded up thetransfer case. Or possibly your shiftmotor isn't operating. I'd try either giving the shift motor a little smack, or getting all four wheels off the ground and spinning them all by hand to see if it that'll unlock any "binding" pressure on the t-case. Theres a article in this section in the stickies on transfer cases and about binding

The first thing to do is to make sure that you're stopped, in neutral, with your foot on the brakes, then flip the switch back to 4high/2wd.

Next, try gently tapping the motor as mentioned, while someone else is doing the low range pedal and switch dance.

Finally, if push comes ot shove, pull the motor off and manually turn the shift shaft back to the 2wd position, and then you'll be able to limp it home. You'll have some troubleshooting to do at that point. :)

Good luck!
