I had my first overheat in my '97 X. It brought back memories of my Hot Rod Camaro. Hahaha...
Anyway, I thought all it needed was new coolant and a good flush. Uh-uh.
I figured it must be the Thermostat ($21.99 @ PepBoys) because...
1. While driving the heater blows cold air!
2. The upper Radiator Hose was trying suck the water from the Radiator (after shutting the engine) but couldn't because the water would not flow through the Thermostat housing.
All is well now. Total cost: $21.99 thermostat + $8.49 coolant.
Imagine how much it would cost if I took it to the mechanic! Scary!
