Stuffing enclosed box with Polyester Fiber?

Hey Guys,

So my girlfriend rocks! She got me this polyester fiber stuffing for a present because I have been fiddling with this sub box for awhile... http://www.crutchfield.com/p_027808/Polyester-Fiber-Stuffing-1-pound-pack.html?tp=1400

I am running 2 x Polk Audio MM 1040's in this box https://www.soundoffaudio.com/item.cfm/id/2428

Has anyone seen any difference in stuffing their sealed boxes? What are your thoughts? Just wondering before I pack it in and screw the subs in!

The poly-fill tricks the subs into thinking there is more space inside the enclosure, I believe there is a chart somewhere telling you how much poly-fill it will take to make the box seem that much larger to the subs. find the perfect sealed enclosure space for your subs, and match that, then you will get the best amount of bass for the space.

quick Google search brought up this from another forum. "General rule of thumb is about one pound (16 oz.) of poly fiber fill per cubic foot. "

Doing more research that's what I found. Well the box is stuffed and sealed, I'll let ya know how it goes!

I had a stuffed and sealed box for a single ten and it was louder than my dual box for 10's without the polyfill. if that means anything...

Absolutely- need the polyfill.

If you need more, I filled mine with batting material (for stuffing pillows and quilts from the craft store) for about $2 per bag. Works awesome!
