My sun roof is leaking. Has anyone had to reseal theres before. I dont know how to and henderson glass doesn't deal with sunroofs

If its the factory sunroof, 95 up, they really do not seal well. they instead are intent on draining the water that does come through. there are drain tubes running foreward down the A-pillers and down in back D-piller , if its leaking you have a plugged drain. the usual fix is to open the roof and first clean any debris (dirt, rocks, boulders, pine cones or whatever has accumulated) then use an air hose to blow out the lines. The fronts can be accesses from the sunroof hole, the rear lines may be hard to access if you have a sport you can pull down the rear part of the headliner and get to them if not just find them underneath and blow them backwards.

if its an aftermarket you are screwed get a new one.

Here is an excerpt from TSB 99-2-8:

WATER LEAK—WATER LEAKS INTO VEHICLE TSB No.99-22-8
AROUND MOONROOF

FORD: 1998-1999 EXPLORER
MERCURY: 1998-1999 MOUNTAINEER

ISSUE
Water may leak into the vehicle through the moonroof opening on some vehicles.
This may be caused by a sealing concern at the front moonroof drain.

ACTION
Reseal the area as required. The sealant should prevent water from entering the vehicle through the moonroof. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Cycle the moonroof to the full open position and remove the headliner trim ring around the moonroof opening.

2. Remove the overhead console, the moonroof motor, and the air deflector as outlined in the appropriate Workshop Manual.

NOTE
IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOT MOVE THE GEAR ON THE MOTOR OR MOVE THE GLASS PANEL. THE MOTOR MUST BE REINSTALLED IN THE SAME POSITION FROM WHICH IT WAS REMOVED.

3. The two (2) front gray drain corners have two
(2) seams that are located in the water channel
and another seam along the inside radius of the drain corner. Apply waterproof Liquid Butyl Sealer (F8AZ-19554-CA) to these
seams on top of the present sealer. Ensure that the sealer is flattened so that water can run into the drain hoses.

4. When the sealer has set up, pour water into the channel to check the seal. Ensure that water does not spill over the water channel or a leak will occur.

5. Look between the headliner and the moonroof to check the underside of the seam for a leak.

6. If no water leaks occur, reinstall the air deflector, moonroof motor, and the headliner trim ring as outlined in the appropriate Workshop Manual.

7. If the above procedure does not correct the
water leak and/or you have any problems or questions, contact Meritor Automotive Quality Department at (810) 227-2001.
