I recently signed up on the forum to show you guys my recently (mostly) finished sport trac. It’s got a lot of mods. I have YouTube videos showing the progress of nearly every mod and a lot of info about them. My channel is Online Parts Pro. That is the name of my company. I sell performance parts and tuners and intakes and everything. So supercharging this truck really wasn’t as easy as hoped. I ran into issues with my body sagging and I had to do my body mounts, also my oil fill tube was in the way of the intake so I replaced with explorer 4.6 45* tube, now my supercharger needs the coupler replaced. I’m getting my heat exchanger and pump in place next week. It took about a month just to get it up and running. There’s still quite a few odds and ends I’d like to finish a little better or fix and stuff. With the heat here in Florida it’s like 80 degrees every day and the truck has near stock power after just 5 minutes. It’s very bad. I don’t know how anyone runs this at any boost level and gets power out of it with no cooling. Fortunately mine will be finished up with an 03 cobra heat exchanger and pump along with moddbox’s intercooler. Apparently I can’t get all my pics in one post so I’ll post some more.

Ok so the rest of the pics! Story on one of those pics of the pcv is it was leaking before I supercharged it and after it got so much worse. It made it run terrible. Come to find out someone had used weather stripping as the connecting tube. So I replaced it with a proper tube. Also one of the pics is to show the 45* oil fill tube so you know what that looks like.

I used a power steering reservoir as a coolant reservoir right next to the intake. Fit really nicely there. And I used an 03 cobra pump and heat exchanger. Heat is still an issue though. I don’t know if I need a different pump or what. It’s running up to 170* in boost and then lowers to around 140* cruising. I don’t think that’s very good.

Well that’s good. I really wanted to contribute something to this forum as I am frequently actually reading threads on here and a few have helped me with my build. I hope someone who’s supercharged theirs can shed some light on my high IAT. I don’t know if I have something wrong with my setup or if it’s normal.

Have you considered rebuilding the charger and getting the blades coated? It doesn't look like they are coated in the pics. Also have you retuned for that bigger maf? If you just swap the maf without proper tuning your fuel trims will be way off. Meth injection would be another item to help.

Supercharger was rebuilt by me about a month ago. Usual stuff wrong with it. I actually would like to coat the rotors and do some light porting. But I also want to raise the boost a little and do a full exhaust and a couple odds and ends and then retune. Ultimately I want around 7-8 lbs of boost and all the supporting mods. I do have remote tuning by Lasota Racing.

So transmission has been acting up pretty bad. It feels like it’s so boggy at first like it’s starting in 2nd gear. Sometimes it doesn’t wanna shift out of third. I’ll hit what feels like neutral randomly... it’s pretty annoying. Also won’t stay in gear on the highway, that’s a huge issue. So I ordered the superior shift correction kit, sonnax boost valve, seals, and the filter. We’ll see how that goes if it fixes the issues. If it’s all good I’ll be on the dyno soon and then on to the next phase and doing exhaust, posi trac and turning up the boost.

On a related note what are you using as the intake intercooler heat exchanger and is that the Bosch intercooler pump I see?

I’m using the moddbox heat exchanger. It sits under the supercharger just as usual roots kits do. Yes it is a Bosch pump from a cobra.

Thanks. I know they sell one which appears to be similar to the Cobra IC. I do see their diagram and really this is not the ideal plumbing method:

The best most efficient way to do it is to run the coolant loop through the reservior full 3/4" because it expands very little. Like this:

This way you have nearly a gallon of fluid being cooled all the time. Not sure if that's how you have it set up. If so, maybe air pocket in the system?

Sounds good. If you need the Ford part number from the reservior I have in my Roush kit let me know. It works great and has 3/4" barbs. It's also easy to bleed; just pop the cap and let the pump run for 10 minutes.

OK here it is:

I thought for sure the reservior was Ford, but it's only the cap. Here is a similar bottle I think might fit better for you as it's rectangular:

Roush sells service parts directly. I would assume you can get the 70007 for less if you need a square one.

Ok. I measured mine and it is 7"x8"x5". It will be tight next to the overflow tanks. You may be able to mount lower. But I just measured my '05 ST and the reservior just might fit in the pocket next to the horns behind the bumper cover.
