Why is that there i a supercharger for the 4.0 OHV and not for the SOHC. I have heard there isn't one but whats the reason behind it. If anyone knows the answer write back ok.

One of the reasons is it's hard to keep the SOHC from blowing up. - literally. The high compression causes it to detonate alot worse than an OHV will when a blower is added so I assume the companies that are making one are trying to find a foolproof way of making decent boost but yet keeping detonation under control.

Oh ok thanks they sure need to make one bad. Alot of people would be happy with that.

Yes, it has to do with the strength of the motor...

But the 4.0 BBK s/c took 8 years to come out for the OHV motor, it may just be a matter of time. I do know it's harder to engineer the intake plenum for a SOHC roots type s/c. A centrifugal however, may be able to be adapted fairly easily.

Yeah keep in mind if a blower were to be placed on top of the SOHC, what would have to be done about the VIS (variable induction system)? The engineers would have to compensate for removing that feature from the system alotgether.
