hey everyone...i have done a little checking and have come up with two versions of this kit...they are both 4 inch lifts but one you need to change the wheels as stockers will not work and it comes with a front driveshaft...the other (superlift kit) is way cheaper you don't need different wheels but does not come with a driveshaft and includes a ss logo skid plate...what i was wondering is if anyone has this lift kit and needed to change the driveshaft or used the stocker...there is a difference of 1000 between the two kits...thxs for any help...cheers jeff

I dont know why you would need to change the wheels? You will need to upgrade to larger tires, and that might require different rims. And you will probably need the longer driveshaft. Or take the current driveshaft to a shop and have it extended.

Here is mine with the kit http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=166834

What brand is the other lift? Is it an RCD? If so the reason you can not use stock wheels is becuse it uses a coil over shock & eliminates the torsion bars. With the stock wheel back spacing it would rub the coil over set up.

The RCD would be well worth the extra $$$ as it is a better system.

wow i wasn't even aware there was another set by another company...all i have been able to find is superlift...rcd doesn't list anything for the explorer...and they even said all there is is a superlift...i thought it sounded kinda funny...it still amazes me cause the superlift with a skid plate was 1000.00 cheaper then this other company...lol...hey dan do you have a link for this system i would pay the extra if it is better...thxs for the advice everyone...

Just get fiberglass fenders and then go soa :D
