I've got a modified explorer that i off road race. its mostly stock right now other than we are doing a v8 motor swap. Going from a v6 4.0 to a v8 (351 thats bored out) means that there is more power. Im guessing that with more speed that I reach the harder an impact that i will have and the more stress it has on the front racing shocks. I have 2 sets of 9:10 ratio shocks on each side that im running on the front now. If anyone has any ideas that will soften the blow of the shock, other than adding more, would be much appreciated. im hoping that someone can help me....

Thanks,

I would look into stiffer coils, like the old Superlift TTB coils. Also, what kind of bumpstops are you running? What are the class rules? The next best thing to airbumps is Timbrens.

Everything else is stock on the truck.. i want to switch to coilovers which probably would be tough too..
