Ok i have a 1999 Ford explorer*Dur* sport AWD:thumbdwn: its got that stupid Auto "4wd" and 3 differentials so its AWD....
But we seem to be having trouble with the POS 4405? thats in it sometime it will not shift and sometimes it gets stuck and under heavy acceleration there is a clunk(my guess is the front drive shaft) but im thinking about pulling a Manual shift T-case from another explorer that also uses the Universals in the front...
So i guess the question is what all entails the swap?
like from under the truck i can see a spot above the tranny that im GUESSING is the pre-cut hole for the manual shift(i read SOMEWHERE it just pops out) it definitely looks like it will pop out.
But is it worth the effort
to "downgrade"?
i mean i LOVED our old JEEP with a Manual shift(it was soooooo much fun) but IDK if its a good idea to swap in the Explorer
