Anyone have trouble switching to/using Valvoline's Snypower synthetic brake fluid ( dot 3 & 4 compatable) in their second generation (95 & up) Explorers? Thanks Mike

if dot 3&4 compatible, then there will be no problem putting it in your truck... if DOT 5 Silicone, you will need to evacuate the whole system and do regular bleeding, etc... dot #&$ are fine when mixed together... DOT 5 CANT be mixed with anything other than dot 5

CASTROL DOT 3&4 super

i just changed mine yesterday i bled all the other **** out and but CASTROL SUPER DOT 3&4 compatible synthetic so far so good! you wouldn't believe how drty the old one was it hadn't been changhed for 2.5 years

Second the motion on the Castrol Synthetic

It's not even very expensive in the quart size. I flushed my and my wife's trucks two years ago, and was very distressed at how discolored the factory fluid was (97 and 98). I plan to do it again this summer.

I like synthetics in general, and the Castrol synthetic line seems pretty darn good across the board. Their intake manifold cleaner won't damage the factory interior coating on the Ex's, for example.
