Going to a wrecking yard tomorrow to get another t-case for our 99 Explorer. If I remember right it takes Mercon fluid, correct? Is there a synthetic version of it?? If so, any drawbacks to putting it into a t-case? Used synthetic in my old 83 Ranger, I think it had a BW 1354 in it, with no troubles......Any input will be greatly appreciated.....

There is no problem using synthetic fluid in the t-case. Most synth makers have mercon replacements. Mobil 1, Royal Purple, and Red Line are a few that come to mind. Make your pick and have at it.
