Does anyone know how to interpret the numbers & letters on the thin metal tag bolted to the extension housing on an A4LD transmission ? According to the ATSG there is a year , month & day build code on this tag . I have 2 A4LD's & they both have 06 as the year . Both have L as the month . One has 18 as the day & the other has 12 as the day . One of these transmissions is in a 1985 4X4 2.8 Ranger & the other transmission is in the bed of the same truck . I'm 99.99 % sure that neither of these transmissions were built in 2006 . There is also a model # on the tags & both are 87GT . Thanks in advance if you can help or provide a link .
