Anybody know where I can get an 01/95 Explorer build date tail lamp assembly? Ford told me they don't manufacture this build date's tail lamps anymore and wanted $145 for one. I can't find it at any of the aftermarket guys. Thanks for any help.

They're all over- any 1995-1997 taillight will work, you don't need to match the build date.

Yea, junk yards I've got a set of the earlier on accident for my 98 low and behold they aren't as rounded so it left a nasty gap.

i may have a set. if you are interested, pm me and i will look to see if they are in good shape.

Thanks for your guys inputs. I talked to dealer about it and he said Ford made two seperate tail lamps based on the build dates, those for 01/95s and those for 02/95s and after. He said the 02/95s wouldnt work with my Explorer since it was an 01 build date. Anyway, thanks again.

Did he say why? I've never had an issue, and I put '97 tails on my 01/95 Ex. :dunno:

dont know if you still need/want a pair of lights, but i went to where i have my parts trucks at. driver tail light is ok. passengers has a scuff mark on it. i am not %100 if it will buff out or not. i couldnt take any pics how ever. it was too dark
