Ever since I bought my 91 Exp about a week ago, I will have to give it some gas and crank it a few times for it to start.

Has anyone ever had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it or maybe where I should start looking.

I know it has a new fuel filter.

Plugs, wires, etc. It probably just needs a good tune up.

Good call...I'm on it tommorow.

Try turning the key to the ON position, and wait a few seconds for the pump to fully prime. Then try and start it. It may be a fuel pressure problem.

Your battery may have kicked the bucket. Go get the voltage checked.

The 2 most likely culprits are fuel pressure check valve (I belive that is in the pump) that keeps the pressure up when the truck of off or IAC..

IF you turn the key to "on".. wait a few.. then turn off then back to "on", wait a few then start it and it starts faster then you know its the fuel pressure.. Either a bad pump or the check valve is bad...

If you do that and it doesn't help it could be the IAC.. The IAC is what gives you the no touch start.. If its the IAC the problem should go away once the truck is warm.

Thank you all for the information.

I will be sure to check all of these things over the weekend. I'll post up my findings.
